Customer background information
The customer is a large-scale food processing enterprise in Zimbabwe, relying on the local fertile volcanic ash soil and sufficient light, mainly engaged in organic pumpkin planting and deep processing, the products include fresh pumpkin, dried pumpkin seeds and primary processed products.
As the traditional manual seed extraction relies on manpower pounding, rinsing and sieving, there are problems such as low efficiency (50kg/h), high seed breakage rate (>15%), and many impurity residues.

- Soaring labor costs: manual seed extraction requires 40 people to work at the same time, labor costs account for 35% of the total production costs.

- The capacity of the single machine is 800kg/h, which can continuously process the unwashed pumpkin with mud, and is suitable for the raw materials directly harvested from the field.
- Seed integrity can be achieved >95%, impurity residue <0.3%.
- Automatic adjustment of breaking pressure and separation speed of pumpkin to avoid fiber entanglement, failure rate <2 times/thousand hours.
- The contact surface is made of 304 stainless steel + tungsten carbide coating, resistant to corrosion of acidic juice of pumpkin and abrasion of gravel.
- Integrated water pressure flushing and mud settling tank, adaptable to Zimbabwe dry season water restriction policy.

The improved rate of intact seeds allows for the development of high-margin products such as organic pumpkin seed oil and baked snacks. In addition, the customer plans to process pumpkin meat residue into livestock feed and extract pectin from the rind for use as a food additive, realizing the “utilization of the whole pumpkin”.
